While attending VFS,
I maintained a connection with the outside world.... I, along with seven other youth
(Vern Bevis, James Diamond, Amey
Kazymerchyck, Gabrielle Martin,
Nagry Ngauv, Venus Soberanes, and Dana Thorne)
and two mentors (Cease Wyss and Bo Myers),
curated Points of Youth.
This involved screening many flicks by and
about Youth and then going through a group
desicion making process.

Team work, organization, patience, open mindedness,
and communication skills is what it took to put
together a fabulous ninety minute segment for Doxa.

This curating position also involved
being a part of an open panel discussion,
in which our team discussed the process involved in
group curating and what it is like to be a youth
interested in being in the film/video industry.
Each youth had to show there curating skills by writing a brief description of a particular documentary that was chosen to be screend. This is what I wrote in regards to "The Man From Venus", by James Diamond.:
This is a short documentary that stays with you for a long time. It is about feeling trapped and confused in a world, a body, a thought. It is about trying to find comfort and understanding through the honest and raw expression of uncensored words accented with moving images.
"The Man From Venus" is a reflection of how one young person feels about existing..."leave me alone, pay attention, hurt me, love me, push me, help me, let go of me...".
