Level Design
This highlights the Game and Level design work I did on Curvature.
Mission Summary:
Moments after the start of the game, you are given the mission to re-activate the Power Station. That's the goal of the game.
Stage One:
The first area is a safe-zone, inspired by a bowling-alley, where the player can explore the world, test out the game-mechanics and player abilities.
The player is rewarded for exploring with bread-crumb collectables throughout the level, we called Energy Pins.
Stage Two:
The next area is inspired by skate-parks. This area is the 'belly' of the Power Station and the game gets progressively more difficult from here.
Stage Three:
The final stage is the escape. It's a race against time to escape before the tunnel is electrified. The player is challenged with moving objects they must dodge to maintain speed.
Once the player escapes, she is rewarded with an inspiring cinematic. The player is now able to continue playing from the beginning, to earn the remaining achievements and collectables.
