Huntingdonshire:



History:
-  derived from the Saxon word 'Huntedunscire' meaning Hunter's Down-shire.   It was well adapted to the sport of hunting and the county was one continual forest.

- Kimbolton Castle, in this county, is the place where Katherine, the divorced wife of Henry VIII, ended her days in peaceful retirement.
