This site is a list of links.  This extensive site has more than 210,450 genealogy related site links.


Church of Latter Day Saint's:

The Church of Latter Day Saint's have one of the most extensive resources anywhere.  On line you are able to search many of their records, as well as find information about where local Family History centers are located.  These centers are open to the public and provide census, church, vital index records and many other useful documents.


Free BMD

Free BMD means - Free 'Birth, Marriage and Death'.  This non-profit organization is attempted to document all English church records.  It is a searchable data base, but it also a 'work in progress'.   Information is constantly updated and there can be errors.   They invite error reports, so they are consistently working to make this a valuable tool for the family researcher.


The Commonwealth War Graves Comission

This site provides details on the more than 1.7 million members of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries who died during the first and second world war.


Gen Docs - Ranks, Professions, Occupations and Trades

This site provides you with the names and a description the various occupations.   When searching many documents, you will only find the name for an occupation.   Here you will be able to cross reference that name to get a full picture of your ancestors vocation.


Genuki - UK and Ireland Genealogy

Genuki describes its as a "virtual reference library".   It gives an in depth description of everything that pertains to English genealogy research.


Pay Sites:


The 1901 Census for England and Wales

This service, provided by the government of England, came on-line in January 2001.   All census records cannot be released to the general public until a 100 year waiting period has been reached.   You can access general information at no cost and find out if your ancestor is listed, but in order to see or download the actual record, you will be charged a fee.


The Archive CD Books Project

An interesting site that includes original copies of many census records and other documents all recorded on CD.


Ancestry.com

A largely American based information site.   It does contain some 'International' data.


RootsWeb.com

There is some information that is free on the site and you are able to list your name as a person researching a particular surname.  They do provide an interesting monthly emailed monthly newsletter at no cost.
