The Painter was my graduation short animation film at the Vancouver Film School.

Is the story of one man who try to paint a sculpture of a prone woman and he failed continuously. Finally He discover why, he is too much worry about the technique and he forget to use the feelings in the drawing.

To create the "Oil paint effect" I used XSI Final Gathering to create the bouncing of the lights and the colors in the scene and after I used the plugin Videogogh to create the strokes.

I used this plugin in any separated layer to obtain most better control of the strokes ( the control menu of this plugin is to short, and in some scenes whit big movements...... take her own way).
