Don is well known throughout Canada and the United States for his humorous presentations. He is the author of the title "Food For Thought: "8% of men and 4% of women, when they lose the TV remote, find it in the refrigerator" - USA Today. A smorgasbord of math ideas served up in a fun, thoughtful and interactive way." During the 1990's Don was chosen twice by the students as Teacher of the Year at the Faculty of Ed, University of Toronto. He has written many publications including Mathemagic, Newspaper Math, Sports Math and Yesterday's Sports, Today's Math. His new book "Taking the Numb Out of Numbers" published by Brendan Kelly will be released this Fall. The book is for parents, teachers and kids 10 years or older and promotes ideals that math involves numeracy, literacy and thinking and it should be fun, thoughtful and interactive. Don currently teaches at the University of Toronto with the focus on math methods courses in field based programs centered in elementary schools. Since they are field based the courses involve children , student teachers, and teachers. He is a former teacher and Head of Mathematics at Emery C.I. in North York, Ontario. In the future Don will be doing less teaching will welcome opportunities to teach and consult, working with kids, parents, teachers or school districts.
