Message
from the Director
Moving
Pictures: Canadian Films on Tour was founded in 1993 on the belief
that all Canadians deserve the chance to see the work
For
many years the question of what is Canadian identity has rebounded across
this country. Though we may never have one image to capture our identity,
we can turn to our visual artists to catch a glimpse of their take on life
in Canada. The wonderful array of films you are about to enjoy represent
not only the culmination of years
From
Nova Scotia comes Thom Fitzgerald's The Hanging Garden
In
organizing this year's Tour, I contacted most of the filmmakers across
the country. I was consistently heartened by the willingness of the directors,
producers, actors and distributors to be a part of Moving Pictures. Not
only were they happy to have the films included
I
want to express my sincerest thanks to all the sponsors, organizers, volunteers,
filmmakers and especially you - the filmgoer, for making
Michael
