  Hank & Molly

British Columbia, 1995, 9 minutes
Director: Michael Czarnecki

Hank's life is on the skids. He's lost his job, wife, money and house, but that is not important compared to his love for Molly. All he needs is a few bucks to get him on the road to Vegas and a new life. A chance meeting with Robert, equally jaded about love and life, ends up being his ticket to better times. An irreverent look at love and objects of desire, this student film is a snappy comedy with unexpected laughs.

Major Tom

British Columbia, 1995, 10 minutes
Director: Sjon Morgan Johnson

Tom, a physically disabled young man, breaks free of his wheelchair to the outer world of his own creation. Battling the ancient Saxons, the German SS and his fans at a rock concert, Tom continues his quest for Gloria - the girl who is literally of his dreams. Richly imaginative and creatively produced on a film school budget, Major Tom is indicative of how a little inspiration can go a long way.

The Fisherman and His Wife

British Columbia, 1997, 10 minutes
Director: Joe Schliessler

A stylish eco-morality fable for today, set in the 1950's.

Le Fleur Magique

Quebec, 1995, 15 minutes
Director: Jean-Marc Vallee

Kid Nerd

Ontario, 1997, 43 minutes
Director: Shereen Jerrett
Producer: Adam Symansky

An offbeat, hilarious and sometimes poignant look back at nerdhood from the vantage point of adulthood, Kid Nerd is a documentary for all those who had a genetic inability to catch a ball - or score a date. All the scourges of that nerd hell - high school - are revisited through clever use of archival footage and candid interviews with articulate former nerds.

Among the nerds who triumphed in adulthood are rebel magician Penn Jillette, The Simpsons executive producer Josh Weinstein, and screenwriter Steven deSouza
(48 Hours, Die Hard).

La Bombe au Chocolat

Quebec, 1997, 15 minutes
Director: Sylvie Rosenthal

A renowned chef - played by the nuttily intense Pascale Montpetit - who has created a succulent dessert, La Bombe au Chocolat, suffers from information bulimia. This sophisticated dramatic comedy tackles both the modern information glut and its helpless gluttons.
