I have always had the need to create. Even at a young age, my family, teachers, and I could see myself becoming an artist of some kind. I dabbled in different mediums such as acrylic, photography, and even music before CGI became my forte. Playing games such as those from Blizzard and Id Software, I was inspired by the endless possibilities of 3D graphics. Prior to any formal training, computer graphics was a hobby of mine for several years. At college I studied art history and philosophy, which inspired me to understand the world around me and the motivation and techniques of the great classical masters.

Recently, I graduated from the Vancouver Film School in Canada. I focused on modeling, texturing and lighting in Softimage|XSI. There I completed a yearlong course in Computer Imaging and Animation where I placed 4th in the international entrance scholarship competition and was in the top 10% of performers in my class.

Now I am seeking experience so I can both learn new techniques, and broaden my abilities artistically. CG texturing and modeling is a totally new medium, but the classical rules that applied to Michelangelo's stylized sculptures and Titian's delicate paintings can still be applied to CG. I try to keep the masters in mind when I work because I see computer graphics evolving into its own unique form of expression.
